Frequently Asked Questions
What is your cancellation policy?
-
24 hour notice to avoid a cancellation fee

What is your cancellation fee?
-
A flat fee of $75 is charged for the first no-show appointment. Subsequent no-shows are the cost of a full session

Are you covered under insurance plans?
-
Yes, the majority of insurance plans recognize Registered Psychotherapists, but it depends on the employers type of coverage. I encourage all my clients to review their coverage before engaging in sessions together just to be sure

How do I claim my session through insurance?
-
Once the session is paid for, you can use your receipt to make a claim. I do not provide direct-billing at this time

How often should I attend sessions?
-
Frequency depends on client need. Some may attend weekly or biweekly on an ongoing basis, while others only require a monthly check-in. It is my recommendation to attend the first few sessions more frequently (weekly/biweekly) and we can discuss a schedule from there

Are virtual sessions secure and private?
-
Yes. Privacy is critical in psychotherapy. I use a phipa-compliant system called Jane

How many sessions will I need?
-
The journey is different for everyone. Some clients only require a few sessions while others attend long-term. As long as you feel the ongoing benefits of psychotherapy, I am open to continuously working with my clients

What can I expect from an initial consultation?
-
Consultations are fifteen minutes, completed by phone or video. It gives you a chance to ask me questions about therapy in general or my therapeutic style and allows us to assess whether we're a good fit

What happens if I'm late for my appointment?
-
I provide a 15-minute grace period if my clients are running late; anything beyond 15 minutes is considered a cancellation as too much time from the session is lost
